Cookie Policy
Effective August 16, 2026
This page lists everything the atelier1746 store stores in your browser, what each item is for and how long it lasts. The store is operated by Mitwill Textiles Europe SARL; how we handle personal data generally is covered by our Privacy Policy.
Why we do not ask you to accept cookies
Because there is nothing here to accept. What consent protects is your own machine: permission is needed before a site puts something on it, or reads something off it, that you did not need for the thing you came to do. Every item in the table below is required to keep you signed in, to keep your basket, or to take a payment, so a banner would be asking your permission for the only thing that makes the site work.
We do count visits, and we would rather say so here than leave it out. It is done with Umami, which runs on our own server — nothing about your visit is sent to Google, to an advertising network, or to anyone else. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your machine, which is why it adds no row to the table below and why there is nothing to ask you about. It counts pages, not people: it cannot follow you to another website, it is never joined to your account or your orders, and we do not use it to build a profile of you. What it does collect, and on what basis, is in our Privacy Policy.
Beyond that there is no advertising, no tag manager and no social tracking pixel anywhere in this store. If that ever changes, this page changes with it and you will be asked properly, before anything is set.
What is stored, and why
Strictly speaking only the first and last rows are cookies. The rest are browser storage — the same idea kept in a different drawer, and listed here because what matters to you is what is on your machine, not which API put it there. Browser storage is never sent to our servers automatically; it is read by the page.
| Name | Kind | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
connect.sid | Cookie (ours) | Keeps you signed in. Set when you sign in and read on every request so the server knows whose account it is answering about. It is httpOnly, so no script on the page — ours or anyone's — can read it. | Until you sign out or the session expires |
mitwill.cart_id | Local storage | The identifier of your basket, so it is still there when you come back or open a second tab. It names a basket; it does not sign you in. | Until the order is placed, or you sign out |
mitwill.cart_id:… | Local storage | Sales team only. One basket per customer they are building an order for, kept apart from their own so the two can never be confused. Cleared on sign-out. | Until the order is placed, or sign-out |
mitwill.acting_for | Session storage | Sales team only. Which customer's account the current tab is ordering on behalf of — what the banner at the top of the page is reporting. | Until the tab is closed |
atelier1746:last-fabric | Local storage | The fabric you last chose while browsing designs, so moving between designs does not make you pick it again. A product identifier, nothing about you. | Until you clear your browser storage |
atelier1746:locale | Local storage | The language you explicitly select, so that choice takes priority over your browser's language on later visits. It contains only a language code such as en orfr. | Until you clear your browser storage |
__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Cookie (Stripe) | Set by Stripe on the checkout page to detect and prevent card fraud. They are set only when you reach checkout with card payment available, and only Stripe reads them. See Stripe's privacy policy. | Stripe's own terms — up to a year |
Managing them yourself
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data, usually under privacy or site settings:
Be warned that blocking them here has a cost, and it is not a small one: without connect.sid you cannot stay signed in, and without the basket key your cart is empty on every page. This store is not usable with site data switched off.
Changes
When the list above changes, this page is updated and the effective date at the top moves with it.
